The Happy House

I had a dream that my husband and I were looking to buy a house and we found one we really liked. The only problem with this particular house was that the previous owner had written “happy” across the front of the house in thick white paint. In my dream, we discussed painting over it, and we questioned why anyone would do such a thing, especially before putting it on the market.

That was it. That was my dream.

When I woke up, it got me thinking.

Dusting off Glory

It was early in the day and a brisk forty degrees when we began our descent into the Grand Canyon. In preparation for a full morning of hiking on the Bright Angel Trail, the four of us laced up our boots and bundled up.

Be Kind and Be Real

We met on a morning when the rain was pouring down. Fidgeting with our Bibles and umbrellas, filled with nervous expectation of what lay ahead.

This was our first time to meet this way, prepared with some hard-edged questions that we were sure would find resolution as we wrestled through them together.

The Space Between Our Limits

It had been a really long day and in some ways it was just starting to rev up. I had been preparing for an event most of the morning that would begin right around dinner time that same night. I was hungry and had not eaten a thing since breakfast, a decision that I was now regretting due to a pounding headache and an angry stomach.
